Tips for a Stress-Free Wedding Day
It’s here! One of the biggest days of your life has finally arrived. You have carefully planned and prepared for months on end and now it’s finally here. Your wedding day! The day you get to marry your best friend. There are just a few little things that may help you through this wonderful, special day.
It’s all very exciting, I know. But trust me, try and have a calming, relaxing night before your wedding. Whether you are spending it with your family, your friends, or even your soon-to-be-spouse, have a chill evening, eat some good food (nothing too greasy or spicy!), and get a good night’s sleep. You’ll be very thankful for the extra sleep when you’re getting up at the crack of dawn on your wedding day.
When you wake up on the morning of your wedding, you’re going to be a huge bag of nerves. Don’t worry, it’s totally normal! Breakfast is likely to be the last thing you want, but it’s probably the most essential thing you need to have on this wonderful morning. Your wedding day is going to be super busy and chances of stopping for a meal or snack may be slim until dinnertime. Have a nice healthy and hearty breakfast to keep your blood sugar up and ensure you don’t get hungry in the middle of family photos. Again, nothing greasy if you can help it. You don’t want to risk any tummy issues on your special day!
This is your wedding day! It is all about you. What better excuse than to pamper yourself? Give yourself some time before all the crazy preparations begin and have a luxurious bubble bath or a relaxing massage. Candles, essential oils, and soft music can all help to calm the nerves. Today is all about you and you deserve to spoil yourself a little.
Easy on the Alcohol
Having a few glasses of bubbly is a given but please, please don’t overdo it. Try and drink some water in between each glass of alcohol. It’s your day and you should have the best time, but you want it to be memorable and for the right reasons. It’s also worth noting that it’s important to keep yourself hydrated! It’s going to be a long day so try and keep a bottle of water nearby or even better, put one of your bridesmaids on hydration duty so they make sure you keep drinking.
A Quiet Moment
One of the things I always do for my couples is try to find a quiet moment for them to sneak away during the wedding. Your wedding day will be super busy, you’ll be the constant center of attention, and you will barely get a moment to yourselves when everything is in full swing. It’s really important to take five minutes in a quiet room or corner somewhere and just be together as a newly married couple. The day rushes by so quickly that you’ll be thankful the two of you took a moment to soak it all in.
Hopefully, this doesn’t need to be said, but just in case, please leave your phone in your hotel room or with somebody else for safekeeping. This day is one in a million and it will fly by in the blink of an eye. Don’t miss a single second by scrolling through your social media feel or emails. There are plenty of other days you can do this. Today, however, enjoy the moment!
Enjoy every single second of your day and make beautiful memories with your life partner. Laugh, love and have a wonderful time!
